Now that the summer is here, many people are ready to get out and do things that allow them to enjoy being outside. While it might seem like everyone should be in a good mood now that the weather is so nice, everyone should be aware that there is an increase in tempers flaring that comes with the hotter months of the year.
This increase in crankiness doesn’t come for one single reason. Instead, it seems as though there are often more than one reason for people becoming more testy when it is hot. One of these is that the hot, humid weather just makes humans miserable. When you aren’t feeling the best because you are sweaty and hot, you might be more likely to get upset about minor things.
Another thing that can happen that might make you more testy than normal is that you might be dehydrated because of the heat. Drinking more fluids can help, but you might find that this is too little too late.
If you find that you are more irritated than normal, try to find ways to calm down and relax. You might want to go indoors and cool off some if that is possible. Without you taking measures to regain control of your emotions, you might end up in a confrontation.
When any confrontation turns physical, there is a chance that criminal charges will follow. If this event is between you and your spouse or another family member, domestic violence charges might be forthcoming. In these cases, you need to think about your defense and make a plan to address that and the change in family dynamics that might occur.
