High school teacher faces several charges related to drugs

Teachers are supposed to be the people who children can look up to. These professionals are held to a very high standard when it comes to their conduct. To learn that a teacher is facing criminal charges is rather upsetting to some people. In fact, some people forget that a person who is charged with a crime might not be guilty of the crime. The concept of “innocent until proven guilty” is true in all cases, even when a teacher is involved.

A recent case in Kentucky is one example of this. A teacher was recently arrested on drug-related charges. The school system didn’t verify who the teacher was; however, the arrest report listed a 29-year-old man who was also listed as a teacher by media outlets. Reports note that he is a math teacher at a high school.

Police officers note that a tip led them to a hotel room. Allegedly, the teacher and two other individuals were in the room. A substance thought to be methamphetamine, digital scales and syringes were present in the room. Charges including evidence tampering, drug paraphernalia and controlled substance possession, were levied against the teacher.

Anyone who is facing drug charges of any sort needs to be aware of what options they have for dealing with the charges. Whether the defendant is a teacher, another professional or anyone else, the right to defend themselves against the charges is still true.
